Rag Tree Pillow with Cricut® {tutorial}

Good morning! I have had so much fun playing with my new Cricut Maker! Eek! It’s an amazing machine. Annnnnd you should definitely put it on your Christmas list! Especially if you love working with fabric. I am not super comfortable with sewing (yet!!!), but I do love working with fabric (especially cute or pretty fabric!!). Today I am excited to share this cute no sew Rag Tree Pillow tutorial with you. 🙂

Alright, let’s get to that pillow tutorial. 🙂

For this project you will need:
this design
this design
Designer Fabric Packet
blank 14 in x 14 in pillow cover
14 in x 14 in pillow insert
hot glue gun
glue
cardstock (for tree pattern)
pencil

I’ve told you about the rotary blade before. Let’s look at it again! 😉 Amazing!

First, you will cut out all your tiny fabric rectangles. The fabric came with 5 different 12 in x 26 in pieces of fabric. I ended up using 4 of the fabric pieces with a little bit left over from each one.

Look how well the Maker cuts! Remember this is just straight fabric with no backing!

Next, I cut out my tree template using a piece of cardstock. I traced it onto my pillowcase.

Then I started hot gluing rows of fabric strips onto my pillow.

Just keep working your way up the tree. 🙂

Until you get to the top….that’s it! 🙂

Then all you have to do is pop in that pillow insert. Annnnnd you have a super cute pillow! 🙂
