I like this bean soup {in a jar} idea because it’s not a dessert!
Sometimes you get & give soooooooooooooooo much sweet stuff
during the holidays, so this is a great alternative to try!
I got this idea from our church craft night, too! 🙂

You’ll need:
1 quart size jar
one package of bean soup mix
fabric, ribbon & recipe card

It’s super easy!  Just dump your beans into your jar.
If your beans come with a flavoring packet just set that on top.
Put on a lid & fun Christmas fabric.

Tie on the following recipe:

Ingredients:
ham hocks or 2 slices of ham
1 large chopped onion
1 16 oz can of tomatoes
juice of one lemon

Instructions:
Wash beans.
Place in a large pan.
Cover with water.
Add 2 tbsp salt.
Soak over night.
Drain well.
Add 2 quarts of water and ham.
Bring to a boil & simmer 2 hours.
Add remaining ingredients &
simmer 1 hour or until the beans are tender.
