This post is brought to you by Cricut.
Good morning! Thanksgiving is over, and it’s time to bust out those Christmas crafts, DIY holiday decorations & handmade holiday gifts. Am I right? 😉 I have always loved to craft. I haven’t always been the best at it though. ha! That all changed when I learned that getting the right tools can be a game changer. That’s how I feel about my Cricut Maker. With the Cricut Maker I feel like I can do anything. 🙂 Paper crafting has always been a little bit overwhelming to me, but with the Cricut Maker and the new scoring wheel. I was able to whip out these cute DIY gift boxes and gift tags in no time at all, and they turned out so cute! So keep reading to see how Easy Holiday Paper Crafting can be with your Cricut Maker & scoring wheel. 🙂
For all these fun DIY gift tags and gift boxes you will need a few supplies:
Cricut Scoring Wheel
Cricut Cardstock (I used the holiday sample pack.)
Cricut Glitter Cardstock
Cricut Cutting Mat (I used a light grip mat.)
printed scrapbook paper
eyelets and punch
I know I’ve said it before, but I LOVE my Cricut Maker. One of my favorite features is its revolutionary toolset. From the knife blade to the scoring wheel to the rotary blade, your creative possibilities are endless! Annnnnd these tools can only be used on the Maker. The Cricut Maker cuts, writes, and scores more materials – with greater precision and control – than any other machine on the market today. Plus, with even more tools coming, Cricut Maker grows with you as you master each new craft. Yep! It’s amazing! 🙂
The Cricut Maker’s commercial-grade cutting power is unmatched! Every cut comes out perfect when the Adaptive Tool System makes all the decisions. Like I said, this tool system is only available with Cricut Maker. This unique cutting technology controls the direction of the blade and the cut pressure to match your material. You don’t have to worry about adjusting the blade or tool or even turning a dial. The machine does everything. Annnnnd with 10X more cutting power, you can take on more materials than ever before! Eek! It’s great! One of the new tools I’ve recently been trying out is the scoring wheel. This new wheel makes extra-deep, razor-sharp score lines in just about everything from paper to corrugated cardboard, poster board, cardstock & more. It makes paper crafting so, so easy!
You simply pop your tool into the machine & the Maker does all the rest! 🙂
After your scoring wheel does it thing, the machine will let you know when to change the tool to the fine tip blade & then it will cut out your box. Easy peasy!
The Maker & scoring wheel definitely makes paper crafting easy!
Next, you’ll assemble your paper crafts. Let me show you how I made the cute pom pom gift box topper. First, you’ll roll the fringed paper tightly. Adhere with a little bit of hot glue. Do this 4 times.
Fluff the fringes with your fingers.
Then glue the four fringes to the top of your gift box close together. Fluff them. That’s it! Super cute! 🙂
The snowflake boxes were even easier. Just fold, assemble & glue on your snowflake. Glitter cardstock works awesome for the snowflakes. Super cute! Fill with candy or small gifts.
Homemade gift tags are my favorite. Use these on DIY Holiday gifts to add even more to that handmade look. I used the Cricut pens to draw the deer, leaves and the Season Greetings. Then my machine cut them out and the rest of the gift tag pieces as well. Then all I had to do was assemble these cute tags. 🙂
Add some eyelets and you’re done! 🙂
I hope I’ve inspired you to tackle some DIY Holiday Cards or Gifts! Paper crafting can be fun! 🙂
Annnnnd if you don’t have a Cricut Maker, be sure to put it on your Christmas list. 😉
I know I wouldn’t be here today without the amazing crafting tools that I have. A Cricut Maker is life changing!
If I can be a paper crafter, you can, too! Try it! 🙂
