{washi tape} summer journals {tutorial}

I shared this over at Brown Paper Packages
a few weeks ago, but if you missed it here it is again!

I love summer time!  So happy it’s finally here!  Yay!
There are so many fun things to do this time of year!
One thing we do every summer is that each kiddo has a summer journal.

Here’s how we made our journals this year!

summer journal 1

You’ll need:
composition books
washi tape
scissors
a rotary cutter
ribbon
cardstock

summer journal 2 summer journal 3 summer journal 4

First you’ll need to remove the top layer from your composition book.
(You don’t want the bright colors showing up underneath your washi tape!)
Then you’ll put your washi tape on your notebook in whatever pattern & colors you like.

Then trim off the excess washi tape from around your edges.
Don’t those notebooks look so fun?

summer journal 9 summer journal 11 summmer journal 10

These two journals are for my girls, so I added some ribbon
& a tag to make them a little more girlie & cute!

Now they are all ready to fill with some fun summer memories!
Thank you so much stopping by my blog!
If this is your first time visiting I’d love to keep in touch.

Every time I see the cool things done with washi tape, it makes me want to order some. Cute journals.

  7. Love the project. I am so jealous of your washi tape collection! This sounds totally cheesy, but I made gingersnap cookies this last week and it reminded me of your blog.

  8. I love it! I keep trying to think of some fun projects to use tape on, but I already have enough projects to complete 🙂

  9. Hey! I'm making these for my GLOW girls & was curious where you bought your washi tape? Thanks 🙂
